A Brief History of Tetchi

[tetchi] have been playing unique, original and uplifting LIVE electronica for clubs, festivals and the general boogie loving public for a few years now, honing their credentials and experimenting with different ways of making the best of LIVE electronica.
We've been morphed and merged through various incarnations, including spells with flautists, percussionists, some gigs with a renowned bagpipe playing folkster, whistlers and jugglers, and currently settling on the tried and tested, hallowed ground of live bass, drums and various keyboards, squidges and laptop madness and a sweet-sounding vocalist.
[tetchi] have developed the ability to move seamlessly between lazy Sunday afternoon chill out and full on Friday night mash up, and when combined with a beatuiful summers day or some sweet visuals from one of our various friendly VJs, you have an inkling into our versatile live potential, whether main stage at a festy or in the wee hours in a dark and dingy club night.

Various combinations of [tetchi] have played gigs at club nights like Cabbage (Leeds), Kulu (Bradford), Sunrise (Manchester), Whirl-y-gig (London) and crossover club/festy newcomers, The Mental Elf Collective (Hebden Bridge). As well as indoor gigs they’ve also entertained at various summer festivals and events like Glastonbury, Solfest, Knockengorroch, 2006 saw them headlining at Beat-herder and The Northern Green Gathering.
[tetchi] are constantly trying new ways of making the live experience as human and organic as possible.
Our latest mini project is to use local instrumentalists as tune fodder, passing their various musical additions through the mangling and distorting recesses of the tetchi gut, and hopefully dumping the sumptuous results on club floors and festival fields next year...summat like that anyway :)
